When to send Christmas cards in Finland
Design your card in November and post it in early December. Posti, the Finnish postal service, announces each year the last days on which Christmas cards will arrive before Christmas Eve – check its website, and allow much more time for cards going abroad. If you order printed cards, add the printing time too.
- November: pick a design, gather addresses, write your greeting.
- Early December: order and post cards within Finland.
- Last minute: share the card as a link – it arrives at once.
How to make your own Christmas card
Choose a design from the Christmas cards, change the text and add your own photo if you like. We print the card and post it for you straight to the recipient – or you share it online. To start from scratch, open a blank card.

Frequently asked
How do you say Merry Christmas in Finnish?
“Hyvää joulua” – roughly hü-vaa yo-lu-a. Add “ja onnellista uutta vuotta” for “and a happy New Year”.
What should I write in a Christmas card?
A greeting, a line of your own and your name are enough. Mentioning something you shared during the year makes it personal.
Can the card be posted straight to the recipient?
Yes. When you order a printed card, we can post it for you to the address you give.
